*** Sde Boker in the Negev Desert ***

Sde Boker is located in the heart of the Negev Desert and houses one of the campuses of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev with its Solar Energy Research Center.
The landscape surrounding Sde Boker is most beautiful. The town overlooks the deep gorge of Nahal Zin. The colors of the mountains change during the day. The nights were cool and starry.

Ibexes live in the mountains.

They also visit the town park

Guest House

The guest house for visiting scientists is on the edge of the Great Canyon

Sounds of Music

The rounded flat plateau overlooking the canyon looks like an excellent stage for an orchestra to perform, and sure enough, that was the case when the Man with the Golden Flute, Jean-Pierre Rampal, brought a Chamber Orchestra to play Mozart over the Wadi. The sounds of music prompted numerous birds to join in the music-making. The musicians were thrown off and needed some time for adjustment...

Ben Gurion Archive

The building was built to serve as a tourist center right before the Six-day War.
After the War the stream of tourists changed the direction.
Instead of visiting Negev, tourists were heading to Sinai,
And so the building in Sde Boker became a home to Ben Gurion Archives and Library.
